Swedish House Mafia’s Until Now
Well, is this the end of the 3 Swedes? After the last UK show at MKB on the 14th July, it’s a steady move into some post-MKB depression for most fans. ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ which was THE song of Milton Keynes Bowl being released officially 2 weeks ago and going straight to number ONE beating off the likes of PSY & the ‘Skyfall’ theme by Adele to reach it, was no means and easy task but Axwell, Angello & Ingrosso did it. Although the trio have moved down in the Top 100 DJ’s by DJ Mag to 12th, but it is by no means a poor effort.
Are you one of the fans still with post-MKB depression? Need an ‘Antidote’? Well its finally here. ‘Until Now’, bringing you the Swedes at the height of their power. Although its not quite the same set-list as MKB, its close enough. The UK iTunes version is an amazing 34 tracks, 2 videos, and 1 album mix. It’s not an album done by the trio themselves but it is like ‘Until One’ bringing you their favourite tracks and mixes all together in one place. Yes, the vast majority of the tracks have already been released, but there are some exclusives on the album like Steve Angello’s collaboration with Third Party bringing us ‘Lights’ (Track 18) and the never released remix of ‘Every Teardrop is a Waterfall’ by Coldplay (Track 29).
‘Greyhound’, the Swedes purposely created intro song. Released earlier in the year is one of the trios most recognizable songs. Although I have to say my least favourite of the Swedish House Mafia productions, it does serve to be one hell of an opener to a show and an album.
‘Here We Go’ is a track by 5 Russians. 3 from Swanky Tunes & 2 from Hard Rock Sofa. Released on Axwell’s Axtone Records in early July. Another amazing track and also a great pick to go with ‘Greyhound’.
‘In My Mind (Axwell Mix)’. There are no words to describe this song. Its is truly a work of art. The vocals by Georgi Kay are just heavenly. This song threw Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl into the limelight. Although released back in January I believe they are going to re-release the track.
‘Calling (Lose My Mind)’, Ingrosso & Alesso really are a quality duo. An incredible release on Sebastian Ingrosso’s Refune Records initially from back in August 2011.
‘Atom’ another killer from Steve Angello’s Size label from April. Nari & Milani really have produced a huge progressive/electro sound, really unique.
‘Leave The World Behind’. One of a handful that haven’t got the cut from the first album. A classic by the Trio & Laidback Luke from 2009. Will this song ever get old?
‘Antidote’; Axwell, Angello, Ingrosso with Swire & McGrillen. Possibly one of the greatest electronic collaborations to date. Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party are the titans of electronic music and they really did make an absolute banger. Originally released December 2011.
‘Walking Alone’ a track by Dirty South & Those Usual Suspects featuring the vocals of Erik Hecht. A typical Dirty South song. Great Synths accompanied by top class vocals. From November 2011.
‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ another track which doesn’t need much explanation. A future classic. The Swedes & Tinie’s 2010 banger.
‘Resurection (Axwell’s Remix)’ Michael Calfan’s big track of the year. Axtones‘ top track on Beatport. Easy to tell why…
‘Paradise’ by Coldplay An odd one to include but the vocals are top class.
‘The Wave (Thomas Gold Remix)’ A track from Miike Snow’s new album remixed by an amazing German.
‘Ladi Dadi (Tommy Trash Remix)’ Another big tune from this year. Steve Aoki & Wynter Gordons collaboration remixed by a crazy Australian. One of the most popular Ultra released on Beatport.
‘Sing2Me’ Another track included by Thomas Gold. Another one of Axwell’s associates on Axtone.
‘Alright’ by Red Carpet. Another track from a few years back. An old school trance track with some truly great vocals.
‘The Island (Steve Angello, AN21 & Max Vangelli Remix)’ Another quality tune from 2010. A remix of Pendulum‘s huge track, ‘The Island (part 1 & 2)’. Steve Angello teaming up with his brother AN21 and his partner Max Vangeli to bring something really special to the mix.
‘Lights’; Steve Angello teaming up with Size’s new boys’ Third Party, to bring an unreleased collaboration out on the album. From previews it is a huge track and a great asset of the album.
‘Raise Your Head’; Alesso‘s big Halloween tune from last year. Massive electro sound to this track unlike his usual melodic hits.
‘Epic’ is a true epic by Quintino & Sandro Silva. A big tune from last year brought to use on Musical Freedom (Tiesto’s Label).
‘Three Triangles’ When Hardwell announced he was to do a more ‘techno’ track I admit I was skeptical however I shouldn’t have worried it became a huge success. Released for Toolrooms summer complications it has proved to be a summer anthem from the newly crowned number 6 on top 100 DJ’s.
‘Trio’ by the trio of Arty with Matisse & Sadko is another great track from Axtone from this year.
‘Teenage Crime’ is another track which has avoided the chop. A truly timeless track from Adrian Lux with euphoric vocals.
‘Reload’; Ingrosso & Tommy Trash, the latest single out on Refune Records. A huge tune from the summer festivals and the months up to the new year.
‘Euphoria’ Ushers‘ track which was produced by the Swedes, not a great fan of the vocals but the production is quality.
‘Don’t You Worry Child’ The Milton Keynes Bowl anthem, been number 1 in the UK and doing brilliantly globally. The farewell track, with John Martins stand out vocals, the perfect note to end on.
‘Beating of My Heart (Matisse & Sadko Remix)’ is another brilliant club tune.
‘Sweet Disposition’ Another track which has also slipped its way into the new album. Lovely vocals defiantly worth keeping .
‘Every Teardrop is a Waterfall (Coldplay vs Swedish House Mafia)’ Another unreleased remix. Been waiting for the official release for sometime now.
‘You’ve Got The Love (Mark Knight Remix)’ Another massive song with a even bigger remix to go with it. Mark Knight really has made it his own, putting his style on it.
‘One’ What can’t be said about One. A absolute classic.
‘Heart Is King’ Axwell’s massive track from early last year. It’s King.
‘Save The World (Knife Party Mix)’ Knife Party’s first release as a duo. Didn’t disappoint in the slightest set up their foundations, wetting the appetite for 100% Modern Talking.
‘Save The World’ is perhaps the biggest SHM track with John Martin on vocals. Is there any need to expand. One of the biggest, most known club tracks of recent years.
‘Punk (Arty Rock n Rolla Remix)’ The young Russian appears again with the final tracks. A truly great finish some very catchy synths.

Summary: A great end to the super groups career, although all the fans want more, we will get more but not as a trio again… Axwell, Ingrosso & Angello all have great solo careers at the same time and ahead, & great labels which bring us new music every month. Until Now is just club hit after club hit. Swedish House Mafia truly came, raved and loved.
